International Edible Oil Market Report 06th September 2017


Soybeans: Net sales of 123,200 MT for 2016/2017 were down noticeably from the previous week, but up noticeably from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (209,900 MT, including 123,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Netherlands (85,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Japan (64,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Indonesia (29,100 MT, including 24,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Bangladesh (12,900 MT, switched from unknown destinations). Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (253,500 MT), Pakistan (67,500 MT), and Costa Rica (7,000 MT). For 2017/2018, net sales of 1,559,100 MT were reported for unknown destinations (1,130,400 MT), China (158,000 MT), Thailand (140,200 MT), and Taiwan (52,900 MT). Exports of 687,000 MT were down 2 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily China (203,900 MT), the Netherlands (85,800 MT), Mexico (85,000 MT), Japan (84,700 MT), and Saudi Arabia (71,200 MT).Optional Origin Sales: New optional origin sales for 2017/2018 of 165,000 MT were reported for China. The current outstanding balance is 330,000 MT, all for China.Exports for Own Account: The current outstanding balance of 14,000 MT is for Canada. 
Soybean Cake and Meal: Net sales of 71,700 MT for 2016/2017 were down 25 percent from the previous week, but up 9 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Canada (20,100 MT), Mexico (17,600 MT)Guatemala (14,500 MT, including 13,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Philippines (11,300 MT), and Sri Lanka (8,100 MT). Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (17,400 MT), Nicaragua (1,100 MT), and Israel (700 MT). For 2017/2018, net sales of 348,900 MT were reported primarily for Thailand (105,500 MT), Ecuador (60,000 MT), unknown destinations (50,000 MT), and Peru (30,000 MT).Exports of 253,900 MT were up 74 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily the Philippines (116,600 MT), Mexico (33,200 MT), Guatemala (25,900 MT), Colombia (14,700 MT), and Canada (13,800 MT). 
Soybean Oil: Net sales of 3,600 MT for 2016/2017 were down 75 percent from the previous week and 81 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for South Korea (13,000 MT), Colombia (800 MT), the Dominican Republic (400 MT), and Canada (300 MT). Reductions were reported for Morocco (11,000 MT). For 2017/2018, net sales of 4,200 MT were reported for Mexico (4,000 MT) and Honduras (200 MT).Exports of 15,500 MT were up 30 percent from the previous week, but down 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily South Korea (13,000 MT) and Mexico (2,200 MT).
